The Isenhurst Table Lamp takes its shape from a paper parasol. A wide. shallow fabric cone sits on a thin brass stem. and the rim is bound with a running whip stitch. the way the edge of a hand-made parasol or a leather hat brim is finished. so the stitches stay visible against the light. The stem drops into a tapered block of solid wood. in natural oak or walnut. that looks like a turned tool handle standing on end. and a small brass cap closes the top. Lit from within. the shade glows evenly and throws light down onto the table. which is why this fabric cone table lamp with solid wood base was designed as a bedside or reading lamp for mid-century and Japandi rooms.

Is it tall enough for a bedside table?
Yes. At 45cm/17.7″ overall. the bottom of the shade sits roughly at eye level when you're propped up in bed. so the bulb stays hidden and the light lands on the book. not in your eyes.
Where does the light go?
The wide cone is open underneath. so most of the 3000K light falls down onto the table surface for reading. while the fabric glows softly for ambient light in the room.
How do I turn it on?
With the inline button switch on the plug-in cord. There is no switch on the base or socket. so nothing interrupts the brass stem or wood block.
What is the difference between the two finishes?
Only the solid wood base changes: pale natural oak or dark walnut. The fabric shade. stitched rim. and brass stem and cap are the same on both.
