Inspiration

The Yelhurst Table Lamp is a mushroom lamp built from stacked turned wood: a half-dome foot. a flat disc. and a ball. in warm-toned hardwood with the grain left visible. topped by a brass socket and a 25cm dome shade. Four shades change the mood of the same base — a glossy sunset-orange acrylic dome that fades from yellow to red. a caramel-tinted glass dome over a frosted inner diffuser. a clear champagne glass dome that shows the bulb inside a small inner cylinder. and a crinkled handmade-paper dome that glows like a lantern. This mushroom table lamp with wood base suits a nightstand. desk. or console in mid-century. retro. or Japandi rooms. and pairs with oak or walnut furniture. linen. and brass accents.

FAQ

How do the four shades differ when lit?
A glows orange-to-red like a sunset and hides the bulb. B gives a deep caramel glow with the bulb softened by an inner frosted layer. C is clear champagne glass. so the bulb shows — use a decorative filament LED. D is crinkled paper over acrylic and gives the softest. most diffused light.
Why is Style D taller?
The paper dome sits higher on the socket. bringing the total to 38cm/15″ versus 30cm/11.8″ for the other three. The base is the same.
What does D25 + D22 mean for Style A?
The sunset shade is two layers — a 25cm outer acrylic dome over a 22cm inner one — which is what blends the color gradient and evens out the light.
Is the base solid wood?
Yes — the half-dome. disc. and ball are each turned from solid wood. so grain and tone vary slightly between lamps.
